Funeral confirmed for child in heartbreaking Emmerdale scenes
April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has found it too difficult to even think about her baby since returning to Emmerdale, but now it’s finally time for her to face her feelings.
April has struggled to even acknowledge the fact that she’d had a child. Dad Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) tried to do the right thing by taking his daughter to the hospital to see the baby and say her goodbyes, but it only served to push the teen away from him.
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) later tried to convince her to register the baby’s birth, only to be met with the same stonewalling as her husband.
However, following a chat with her social worker, April changed her mind and decided that not only did she want to register the birth, she felt ready to go back to school. It felt like a huge step forwards.
Next up came the brave task of naming her baby – and the name settled on was Rebecca, a moving nod to April’s friend Becca, who died on the streets after being knifed by a thief who’d stolen April’s purse.
The certificate made April feel overwhelmed.
She stared at the word ‘mother’ next to her name, and couldn’t believe she had received that title atjust 15 years old.

It’s still touch and go with April, so Marlon and Rhona decide to go ahead with Rebecca’s funeral without her, but they push for April being involved in scattering the ashes.
April asserts she is still not ready to acknowledge the child, but secretly, inside she’s crumbling.
Will she finally be able to say her goodbyes, or will it be enough to tip her over the edge?
