In a twist we certainly didn’t expect, local GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) is hiding an intriguing secret in Emmerdale.
During the vigil that was held after the limo disaster a few days ago, Manpreet received a phone call.
She claimed it was someone trying to contact her about work, but when Paddy (Dominic Brunt) tried to glance over her shoulder, she was quick to hide her device.
The storyline picked up a little bit of speed in last night’s episode, as someone attempted to make contact with Manpreet again.
The doctor had joined Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), Tracy (Amy Walsh), Kerry (Laura Norton) and Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) in the pub to raise a glass to Suzy (Martelle Edinborough), Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), who all died after a limo crashed into the middle of an icy lake.
The day marked Leyla’s birthday but also the day before her and Amy’s funerals, so they decided to try and support each other in a reflective moment.
As Manpreet sat down with her drink, it wasn’t long until her phone pinged again. Very quickly, she stood up and announced that she needed to leave.
The girls were under the impression Manpreet had the day off, but she covered, made a comment about her job, and headed out.
Just as she did this, Manpreet smirked. Whatever her secret may be, it’s clearly bringing an element of fun and positivity to her life.
