There could be a new twist looming on Emmerdale as Ella Forster faced tough accusations once more.
Chas Dingle collapsed last week and was rushed to hospital, with doctors soon confirming she had overdosed on her strong painkillers. Chas was insistent she had taken the right dose, with her partner Dr Liam Cavanagh also revealing this to be the case.
With doctors revealing there were high levels of codeine in her system, they said she’d taken too much. As Chas tried to figure out how this could have happened, Liam wasted no time in confronting his scorned ex Ella.
In upcoming scenes events reach a terrifying conclusion with a death teased, but before that there’s more drama on the way. Ella will continue to face accusations that she meddled with Chas’ medication.
She’d been spotted sneaking into the back of the pub where Chas lives during her engagement party. Ella had had a furious run-in with Chas before disappearing out back, only to be spotted by Victoria Sugden.

So did Ella sneak into the kitchen and tamper with Chas’ medication? Viewers think someone else is to blame and that poor Ella is being stitched up by them.
In fact viewers have two separate theories on the identity of the person who caused Chas’ collapse, and both could be allowing Ella to take the fall. Some viewers are convinced it’s John Sugden who tampered with the painkillers, after Chas failed to give her approval over his romance with her son Aaron Dingle.
John is desperate to win her over, so did he frame Ella so that he could help Chas and get her onside after the medic rushed to her aid? What if the person to blame is Chas herself, and she really did overdose on her painkillers like Ella is suggesting – amid fans wondering if an addiction story was being planned?
Taking to social media, one fan theorised: “I think it was John not Ella. He wants Chas to like him!” Another viewer agreed: “I’m thinking John sees Chas as a weak link in the cover-up following Anthony’s murder and in fear for his own liberty, has taken it upon himself to try and ‘get rid’ of her.”
A third viewer posted: “I think John did it so he could save Chas,” as a fourth said: “I believe it’s John the big hero finding Chas and helping her.” A fifth fan commented: “We all know it’s John that’s been drugging Chas since she hates him.”
But some think Chas might be to blame, with one writing: “I don’t think anyone spiked Chas and I think either she took more painkillers deliberately and is more than happy for Ella to take the blame, or Chas lost track and took too many painkillers by accident.” This was echoed by another fan who said: “Everyone is saying John or Ella is forgetting Chas seriously hurt her back in the accident and Liam has asked her several times if she is OK but she obviously isn’t.
“The tablets she’s taking are codeine which are highly addictive so I think she’s taking too many to ease her pain which resulted in an overdose by accident. But since Ella kicked up at the party it was the perfect excuse to get rid of her.”
