Emmerdale star hints at exit in cryptic post
Emmerdale star Emile John has hinted at an exit for his character Ethan Anderson in a cryptic post.
Ethan has found himself at the centre of the drama recently, after crashing his car and leaving friend Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) for dead at the side of the road after a drunken night out.
Eventually, Ethan came clean to dad Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) about his crime, and left him devastated when he attempted to do a runner.
However, Ethan soon returned to the village, and was left horrified when he was arrested, and discovered that Charles had been the one to report him to the police.
In more recent scenes, he was left injured when he was knocked down in a deliberate hit and run by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) on the outskirts of the village.
This week, Ethan is set to collapse, leaving Charles horrified – but will it be fatal?
‘It’s the day of the court and they’re getting ready and they’re bonding. Charles is letting Ethan know how proud he is of his son, that he’s doing the right thing and whatever happens will happen and they’ll face it together,’ actor Kevin Mathruin revealed.
‘Ethan’s feeling very strong and confident that he’s doing the right thing. They’re making, not light of the situation, but settling with what’ll happen will happen.
‘Charles is talking and reassuring him that while he’s in prison it won’t take that long, the sentence won’t be that bad hopefully – and he realises he’s not getting any response. He goes back from the kitchen and realises that Ethan’s on the floor and he just goes into emergency mode, he has no clue what’s going on.’
As Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) works to resuscitate Ethan, Charles is left terrified. Will Ethan pull through?
Speaking to fans in an Instagram Q&A, actor Emile answered a message from a fan saying that they were ‘praying Ethan doesn’t end up leaving the village’ with quite a cryptic response.
‘I mean look, the thing is… Basically… I mean hey that’s the… Yeah…’ He said.
What does that mean?
Could Ethan be set to succumb to his injuries? Could he end up going to prison for leaving Nicky for dead?
Or, is this just a clever ruse to keep fans guessing?
