Moira’s unusual behaviour escalates as reeling Cain makes a discovery in Emmerdale
Something is going on with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb), but the question is, what? Cain (Jeff Hordley) comes closer to answering that conundrum when he makes a shocking find in Emmerdale.
Lately, Moira has been a bit all over the shop in terms of her mood and erratic behaviour; randomly and unexpectedly falling asleep on the sofa, sudden bursts of anger and out of character unkindness, and Cain has been struggling to cope.
Moira even balked at Cain’s supportive suggestion that she see a doctor, leaving him out in the cold and without any options to try to help.
So far, Cain’s mostly been irritated by Moira’s acidic tongue and at having to walk on eggshells around her, but that irritation is set to turn to deep concern when he makes a discovery.
He finds a bottle of whisky in her bag and confronts her with it, and we can only imagine how well that will go down. It’s bad news as Moira has battled the bottle in the past and it could signify that she’s spiralling once again.
After everything with Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano), no one could blame her. Following the confrontation, Moira confides in John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) that her marriage is in trouble, which says just about everything about that interaction with her husband.
Cain is further angered and fearful for his marriage when he catches Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and Moira having a cosy drink together. Is this another self-destructive behaviour and further sign she’s returning to alcoholism?
The question remains at this stage, what is going on with Moira? Speculation has been flying around that it’s alcoholism, or perhaps it could be the menopause.
Or maybe even a brain tumour is responsible for her personality changes.
Whatever it is, it seems there are some more dark days ahead for the Dingle family.
