Emmerdale fans have been left gobsmacked after discovering the real age of actor Dominic Brunt

Emmerdale fans have been left gobsmacked upon learning the true age of Dominic Brunt, the actor behind the beloved Paddy Kirk.

Dominic has captured hearts as Emmerdale’s lovable vet since he first appeared in 1997. His portrayal of Paddy quickly cemented him as a mainstay on the hit ITV soap with his standout performances.

Throughout his time on the show, Paddy has found himself at the heart of numerous dramatic storylines, from scandalous love affairs to the heart-wrenching loss of his child, keeping viewers glued to their screens.

Paddy’s rollercoaster love life has certainly caught the audience’s attention; the character has walked down the aisle five times, with his most recent nuptials to Mandy Dingle, played by Lisa Riley.

Yet, the revelation of Dominic’s age has truly shocked fans. A post on an Emmerdale fan page on Facebook unveiled that Dominic was born on 15th April 1970, leaving many astonished by how well he has maintained his youthful looks at 54 years old, according to Leeds Live.

Fans couldn’t hide their surprise, with one exclaiming: “What wait? He’s 54?” and another praising his enduring boyish charm: “He still has that same baby face as when he arrived!” A third chimed in: “I know he def looks a look younger.”

Dominic has been on the soap for years

Off-screen, the cherished actor enjoys a happy marriage with Joanne Mitchell, also known to soap fans for her roles in both Emmerdale and Coronation Street.

Dominic and Joanne first met at a drama school in Bristol and married in 2003. The pair are now doting parents to their sons, Mickey-Joe and Danny Lee.

Joanne has had an impressive acting career, with multiple appearances in Emmerdale under her belt.

She’s taken on four different roles in the soap so far, starting with Susan Davies, then a midwife named Yeo.

She then moved on to more complex characters like DS Karen Barnborough and most recently, she portrayed Sandra Flaherty, the mother and stepmother of Liv Flaherty (played by Izzy Steel) and Aaron Dingle (played by Danny Miller).
