Emmerdale star begs fans not to boycott hit TV show after she’s suddenly axed
Emmerdale star Rachael Gill-Davis has asked fans not to boycott KAOS upon its release after her scenes were cut.
The Netflix series, which hit the streaming service last week, is inspired by the ancient gods and stars Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, Harry Potter star David Thewlis as Hades, and Janet McTeer as Hera.
It is set in a present-day alternate Crete in the city Heraklion, under the thumb of President Minos. The official synopsis of the series reads: ‘Zeus has long enjoyed his status as King of The Gods.
‘That is until he wakes up one morning and discovers a wrinkle on his forehead. Neurosis sets in, setting him off on a dangerous, paranoid path.’
KAOS has received acclaim and currently holds an impressive 71% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Emmerdale star Rachael, who plays Gail Loman in the ITV soap, had filmed scenes for the show but had some ‘bad news’ to share with her followers, revealing that she had been cut ahead of its debut.
‘Hi guys, so I’ve got a bit of bad news unfortunately,’ she said on her Instagram stories. ‘Last week I found out I’ve been cut from KAOS, that’s coming out today.
‘She didn’t make it to the edit so for everybody that has been waiting for me to deliver you know those two lines that I had, in a short skirt, it’s unfortunately not going to happen.’
She added: ‘I think what I’m asking is, I don’t want you to boycott the show. It comes out today, I got to read all eight scripts, I got to try on Jennifer Saunders’ shoe from Ab Fab so all is not lost!”
Rachael was quick to add that KAOS is going to be ‘insane’ and ‘mega’. ‘I’m not bitter. But maybe a little bit!’.
Rachael first appeared in Emmerdale in 2019 but returned in 2023 in a more regular capacity. In addition to reconnecting with ex Ryan Stocks (James Moore), she has become a barmaid at The Woolpack – and her unusual quips and advice has made her a firm favourite with viewers.
