Hope at last for Moira in Emmerdale as she and Cain heal – before a devastating tragedy
Things haven’t been too great for Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in Emmerdale recently – though after experiencing troubling seizures, and hiding the extent of her health worries from her family, it’s only set to get worse.
We’ve seen her take her anger out on husband Cain (Jeff Hordley), behave scarily out of character and hit the bottle.
To make matters worse, he begin to wonder whether their marriage was on the rocks.
Desperate for answers, Moira consulted Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) for some advice. Wondering whether she was going through the menopause, he confirmed that it was likely, but her other symptoms could be a cause for concern.
She then confided in Chas (Lucy Pargeter), who slipped up and told Cain everything.
He headed to Butler’s Farm and tried to cool the situation, with her confirming her appointment and upcoming blood tests. Their relationship seemed to be back on track after bit of lunchtime fun.
However, in upcoming scenes, Moira becomes convinced that Cain is having an affair with his sister-in-law Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) after spotting them having a laugh together.
Darting over to Mill Cottage, she accuses Ruby of trying to sleep with her hubby, which leaves her perplexed by the allegations.
As Cain and Caleb (William Ash) arrive, Moira lashes out and head-butts Ruby!
It becomes clear that she’s forgotten about her follow-up tests, and next week things will take a turn for the worse when she starts a fire in the barn at Butler’s.
Ruby shows up tease her over her ailing marriage, but Moira doesn’t retaliate. Soon, she spills tractor fuel over the floor and her hands and her thoughts begin to blur – she sees Ruby as ex-villager Emma Barton, the woman who tried to kill her.
With her behaviour rapidly changing, she raises a shotgun and raises it at Ruby.
As a shot fires out, the bullet causes a spark and the building soon becomes engulfed in flames.
As the family notice the unfolding incident, they rush to the barn – and an explosion knocks them all of their feet.
‘Its just starting at that point so you can see that obviously Ruby is lying on the ground and the flames are just starting, just the beginning’ Natalie told us.
‘There is an explosion, and maybe not everybody gets out of that explosion…’
We do know that at least one resident will lose their lives. Could this be the end of Moira or Ruby?
