Strictly’s Adam Thomas ‘still in pain’ as he gives update on tough health condition
Former Emmerdale favourite Adam Thomas sent fans into a frenzy after he candidly opened up about his ongoing health condition which causes gruelling side effects
Strictly star Adam Thomas has begged fans for advice after sharing a candid health update.
On Monday (September 2), the Emmerdale star took to Instagram to share a clip of himself being injected online. The actor previously revealed that he has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis – a long-term autoimmune disease that causes joint pain, swelling and stiffness.
Despite appearing in high spirits in previous posts, the Waterloo Road hunk admitted that it hasn’t been plain sailing. He confessed: “There has to be an easier way than this.
“Don’t get me wrong it’s worked wonders, but I am still in pain and the side effects that this drug has is really taking its toll now. Is anyone else on this or have been on this and noticed a huge difference in themselves.”

He went on: “I feel like I am constantly in fog! Drowsy, falling asleep all the time, stomach pain, throwing up.
“Maybe it’s because I’ve not been as consistent with it as usual I’m not sure, but it feels as though the side effects are getting worse, and lasting a lot longer. Has anyone been on methotrexate and moved to something else that worked for them?
“Any help or advice would be great,” he added with a kiss. It didn’t take long before fans flooded to the comments to offer their advice online.

Many of his supporters offered him different medical options whereas others urged the star to “not give up” as they shared their own struggles with the condition. It comes after Adam opened up about his “long and hard” battle with arthritis.
In February he explained how he has been dealing with the condition which affects one percent of the UK’s population. He said at the time: “So been in and out of hospital for a while now, tried all sorts of medications and painkillers.
“But nothing’s really working, so time to try something new.” The actor explained that he had been given more steroid injectio9ns to try to “ease the pain and inflammation”.

He went on: “It’s been a long and hard battle and as of yet nothing has worked, but I’m hopeful! I’ve suffered just over a year with arthritis and I have to say it’s been the toughest period of my life to date.
“I’m a firm believer of everything happening for a reason, but I don’t really have the answer to that just yet. If I’m being completely honest… I’m suffering… I don’t think I want to suffer in silence anymore.”
