Emmerdale spoilers: Final prison exit revealed for ‘good person’ who has a heartbreaking request
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) paid a visit to Gus Malcolms (Alan McKenna) in Thursday’s (June 6) episode of Emmerdale, desperately hoping it would help her and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) move forward.
Marlon and Rhona have been in a difficult place ever since Gus – the father of Rhona’s daughter Ivy – went to prison.
The lengthy prison sentence for Gus was only delivered as a result of Rhona changing her statement last minute. Rhona failed to tell Marlon about this move, which left him feeling hurt and betrayed.
These emotions and Rhona’s inability to consult Marlon about decisions have been at the forefront of his mind ever since and because they haven’t communicated well, they’ve struggled to change the difficult dynamic.
Yesterday (June 5), Marlon completely lost his temper with Rhona after discovering she had been speaking to Charles (Kevin Mathurin) about getting Ivy christened.
Before Marlon returned home, Charles put forward the idea of Ivy getting christened and Rhona briefly said they’d have to think about it. However, when the conversation was relayed to Marlon, it was said in a way that made it look like Rhona had made another choice without him.
When Rhona arrived at the pub kitchen, she attempted to talk to Marlon, but his anger bubbled over completely which resulted in him throwing a bowl across the room.
Feeling incredibly overwhelmed, Marlon opened up to Paddy (Dominic Brunt) about needing a break and he suggested camping, which is where they went in tonight’s episode.
As Marlon and Paddy got settled into a night under the stars, Rhona was in the village wondering how she can move forward with Marlon. Once Mary (Louise Jameson) suggested finding the root of the problem – away from Ivy – Rhona realised she needed to visit Gus.
There, Rhona opened up to Gus and admitted she is handling things terribly and really regrets the way she treated him.
Gus – who was sentenced to eight years in prison – told Rhona that she must never bring Ivy to see him behind bars.
Back in the woods, Marlon had gone on a walk after finding out Paddy went behind his back to speak with Mary.
Thankfully, Rhona arrived and was able to find her husband. She apologised, said she really loves him and thinks their relationship is able to be saved after all.
Thank goodness.
