Emmerdale turmoil for Moira Dingle as she deteriorates amid brain tumour diagnosis

New Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal the fallout to Moira Dingle’s brain tumour diagnosis, with tough scenes ahead.

Moira, played by Natalie J Robb, learned this week what had been causing her seizures and her odd behaviour. From outbursts and a change in personality to confusion, Moira was displaying worrying symptoms.

Doctors informed her on Friday that she had a type of brain tumour called a meningioma. They revealed it was inside of her skull and near the left temporal lobe, and that she would need surgery to have it removed.

She was advised the type of tumour was typically non-malignant, and that it was likely not to be cancerous. But the news she would have to have brain surgery left her in tears, fearing what was ahead.

Next week Moira continues to try to come to terms with her diagnosis, with her loved ones rallying around her. But she’s anxious and overwhelmed as her treatment options are revealed to her, with more concern ahead when she suffers another seizure.

Cain Dingle reaches boiling point as he struggles with his wife’s condition, as well as the fact he’s lost his son Nate Robinson who fled the village after a showdown last week. Cain tries to contact Nate, keen for forgiveness and begging him to come home.

Amid the drama with Nate, Cain remains angry and unsure how to handle Moira’s diagnosis. She and her brother Mackenzie Boyd struggle to get their head around the ‘watch and wait’ method proposed by the neurosurgeon.

As the week goes on it’s clear Moira could be getting worse, with her condition deteriorating. Moira continues to show signs of neurological deterioration, and at one point the family panic when she suddenly suffers another seizure.

Actress Natalie recently spoke about the storyline, wanting to do it justice. She revealed: “I feel really fortunate to be trusted with such a challenging storyline. Moira and her family have an extremely challenging time ahead, and I’m hoping I can portray it in a truthful way that does justice to all the people who are really suffering with a brain tumour.”
