Liam struggles with a major decision in Emmerdale about missing child killer Ella
Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) was feeling torn in Wednesday’s (June 12) episode of Emmerdale as he wondered what to do about Ella Forster (Paula Lane).
At the end of May, it was revealed newcomer Ella killed her friend when she was a child after the girl said she no longer wanted to be mates with her.
We learnt that Ella had come from a very deprived background and this girl’s mother, June, had been the only adult who’d ever taken an interest in her and made her believe she was worth something. The thought of losing June as well made her see red.
Ella had been punished for her crime and in the years since had moved from place to place, always having to move on when someone inevitably found out about her past.
When Liam discovered Ella’s secret he was overwhelmed with emotion. The two characters had started a relationship in recent months, with Liam trusting Ella enough to open up about daughter Leanna, who was killed by Meena Jutla.
The betrayal and hurt made Liam a very angry man towards Ella. He told her to leave the village and never return but in tonight’s episode, it became apparent he was potentially having second thoughts.
In the café, Liam chatted to Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) about Ella and how he still has some of her things at his house.
Manpreet encouraged Liam to get rid of the belongings one way or another, but he felt bad at the thought of Ella coming back for them and discovering they had been binned.
Later, Manpreet found Liam with Ella’s things in a box. They got chatting about Charles (Kevin Mathurin), who is pushing Manpreet away in the aftermath of Ethan’s (Emile John) sudden death.
After the conversation, Liam was seen pondering over the box of Ella’s bits and pieces. He turned and wandered back down the road, suggesting he may not dispose of them after all.
If Ella returns looking for her things, it will give Liam the opportunity to talk to her.
Will this be the case?
