Belle reels after making unexpected discovery about Tom King in Emmerdale
A discovery at Dale Head left Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) feeling terrified about what Tom King (James Chase) may do next in Emmerdale.
Tom disappeared from the village shortly after Belle’s family learnt he had been abusing her for months on end. Not wanting to get caught out, Tom packed up his things and ran, and hasn’t been seen since.
Prior to his exit, Tom started a relationship with young Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) in the hope it would make Belle jealous. Tom’s plan failed miserably, however, as he watched Belle attempt to make Amelia see his true colours rather than reunite with him.
In last night’s episode of the ITV soap, Belle was found outside Dale Head by Lydia (Karen Blick). She revealed Kim’s (Claire King) property agent had informed her the place is a complete mess.
Knowing her old home was spotless when she left it, Belle knew this meant Tom had let himself in and caused damage.
As they entered, Lydia found a wire on the floor. She picked it up and grew curious, but Belle very quickly noticed a small camera attached to it.
Creeped out by the fact Tom had been watching her again, Belle knew Tom must’ve dropped the wire without realising on his way out.
Lydia told Belle that she wants her to return to Wishing Well so she can be supported by her family, and that they’d be taking the camera to the police as evidence.
Later in the week, Belle will ponder over the decision of returning to the police about Tom.
Eventually, she will realise that this is the only way to stop Tom doing this to others, to Amelia. She approaches Lydia to ask for her experience on what it was like reporting Craig.
It’s a big ask of Lydia, who struggles reliving the trauma. But she does it for Belle and hopes it helps her make a decision. The pair bond over their difficult day and Lydia is hopeful Belle has been galvanised to make the report.
The next step in the right direction comes from Amelia, who seems to have woken up to Tom’s evil. She arranges to meet Belle privately and Belle is only too pleased to accept. But is it all part of a trap?
As Belle waits at the Dingles’ for Amelia to show up, she is horrified as Tom casually lets himself in, blocks the door and locks it. Belle is trapped and there’s no way out.
Now that he’s got her alone, what will Tom – who has nothing to lose – do?
