Wild Emmerdale theory as fan ‘works out’ what Ruby’s mum wanted to tell her
Emmerdale fans are usually pretty good at predicting what’s to come -and have predicted a shocking DNA twist for Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly).
Last week, we met Ruby’s ailing mother Helen Fox (Sharon Maughan) when Caleb Milligan (William Ash) visited her.
It was clear from the outset that the two weren’t on the best of terms – he referred to her as poisonous and revealed to us viewers that she’d tried to Pau him to leave her daughter.
Helen became desperate to reconnect with estranged Ruby, so Caleb used the opportunity to deal her an ultimatum. He wanted £100k, in exchange for a visit.
Unfortunately for him, the plan backfired when the nurse told Ruby that her mum had passed away before she could get there
.
Later, it became clear that Helen really was desperate to see her daughter, having already transferred the money from her death bed. Caleb kept shtum, but it’s left him – and us – wondering what she had to say.
Fans have taken to speculating on social media whether the reason she was so against their marriage was because the two were secretly related – and whether she intended to reveal who Ruby’s real father was.
As we know, Caleb was unveiled as another member of the Tate Dynasty upon his arrival into the village, with his dad being Kim’s (Claire King) ex-husband Frank (Norman Bowler).

One fan took to social media to say: ‘Maybe her father wasn’t her father, maybe it was Frank Tate like Caleb… just a thought.’
This would make her half-siblings with her husband. Yikes.
It’s more likely that the huge secret is related to the Miligans’ daughter Stephanie, who has recently been mentioned.
Will we ever find out what Helen wanted to say? Probably – this is Emmerdale after all, and secrets don’t stay secret for very long!
