Emmerdale ‘confirms’ who will take down Rose Jackson – and it’s not Kim Tate after all
Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) is on borrowed time in Emmerdale as her harebrained scheme to take down Kim Tate (Claire King) on behalf of Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is bound to go awry.
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from all our years of watching the ITV soap, it’s that dastardly plots almost never go according to plan.
What’s more, going toe-to-toe with the Kim Tate never ends well for the residents of the eponymous village, so I’m predicting that Rose – like all those before her – will find this out the hard way.
The newcomer, as viewers know, is Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) biological mother, having rocked up in the village earlier this year, coming face-to-face with her daughter for the first time in decades.
With Rose having abandoned her when she was just a baby, Dawn wanted nothing to do with her at first.
But after giving it more thought, she resolved to take this chance to get to know her mum, who – for all intents and purposes – has made a huge effort to make things right.
Little does Dawn know, however, that Ruby has ulterior motives, working with Ruby to take down Kim once and for all.
Kim, while having it in for Rose, has no clue that the latest in as long line of Home Farm house guests wants to destroy her, let alone the fact that she’s in cahoots with Ruby.
Fans have been desperate to know if Kim – who is always one step ahead – will work out that Rose is up to no good and sling her out on her ear before any significant damage can be done.
But while Kim is more than capable of such a thing, there’s also the possibility that it won’t be the Home Farm matriarch at all that catches Rose out.
It could, in fact, be her very own daughter.
Dawn, as viewers know, has started to bond with her estranged mum, eager to spend time with her and get to know her properly. But will this prove to ultimately be Rose’s downfall?
Will Rose – who desperately wants a relationship with her daughter – slip up in her efforts to bond with Dawn, spilling the beans?
And if so, will Dawn perhaps be forced to out her mum as the master manipulator and schemer that she’s proven to be?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
