Emmerdale fans ‘work out who kills Leyla’ as villain’s return ‘revealed’ after exit news

Emmerdale viewers are still reeling from the news Leyla Harding would be killed off, with some believing they know what happens.

Reports emerged this weekend that actress Roxy Shahidi would bow out of the show after 16 years, and that her character Leyla is being killed off in explosive scenes. Emmerdale has yet to confirm the news or when it may happen.

But some fans already think they know what happens to Leyla and who might kill her. It’s not known how Leyla will die with details being kept under wraps for the time being.

But fans believe Leyla will be killed by someone, with a villain possibly heading back to the village. Despite there being numerous ways that Leyla could lose her life, fans are convinced it will be a murder.

Not only that, but some fans believe serial killer Meena Jutla, who shot Leyla a couple of years ago, could be headed back to the village. A big theory is that Meena could return, and it could lead to Leyla losing her life.

Other fans are speculating it could be linked to her former drug dealer, or perhaps villain Tom King could kill her. If she isn’t murdered, other theories have been shared by fans too with some twists and turns no doubt ahead.

One viewer posted: “Does anyone think they could make Meena come back or is it something to do with Tom?” Another said: “I think I’d only accept it if they brought Meena back to finish her off,” as a third wrote: “If Tom causes her death…”

Another idea read: “Theories on Leyla and how she could possibly die: Car accident, relapse, Tom kills her or massive stunt week.” A further comment read: “If it’s a shock accident it could be something to do with take a vow or Jamie the drug dealer has something to do with it.”

It comes after a source told The Sun: “Roxy has adored her time on the soap and has made so many happy memories since first joining. The cast have become like family to her and she has grown so much as an actress, but now feels like the perfect time to spread her wings and try something new. She is really excited about her meaty exit storyline, which will see her character Leyla die on screen. She’d rather go out in a blaze of glory and be remembered.”
