Emmerdale fans spot Tom’s ‘obvious’ mistake as they point out ‘easily found’ piece of evidence
Emmerdale villain Tom King was seen smashing up the tablet that contained footage of him abusing Belle Dingle - but viewers were quick to point out a glaring error
Emmerdale viewers were quick to point out a blunder made by Tom King in Monday’s episode as the villainous vet went to extreme lengths to cover up his wicked behaviour towards Belle Dingle.
Just last week, Belle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper, turned herself into the police after she defended herself against Tom, played by James Chase, with an axe.
Tom had attempted to coerce Belle into retracting her abuse allegations against him, promising in return to keep quiet about her being the perpetrator of the attack, even going so far as to concoct a tale for the police about two unknown men being his assailants. However, in a surprising turn of events, Belle courageously decided to confess, also reporting Tom for his domestic abuse.

Consequently, Tom, having been released from hospital, was summoned for questioning where he fabricated his way through the interview. It soon emerged that Tom was worried about a piece of damning evidence as he admitted to his lawyer that he had numerous cameras installed at his marital home and that footage still existed on one tablet, which had a zombie case and was frequently used by his young cousin Carl, that the police wouldn’t think to look for.
Unbeknownst to Tom, the tablet had been swiped by Isaac Dingle from Carl as he wanted to play a game on it. However, Moira Dingle swiftly intervened after she noticed downloaded files, which confirmed multiple cameras and surveillance on Belle had occurred.
Moira was all set to hand over a tablet to Belle, but a seizure caused by her recent brain tumour diagnosis stopped her in her tracks. She woke up with no memory of why she needed to get in touch with Belle, reports Leeds Live.
On Monday night’s episode, Tom was desperate to get his hands on the damning evidence. He sneaked into Butlers and, despite almost being caught by Moira’s son Matty Barton, he found the tablet.
The episode ended with him destroying the device, a scene that Carl secretly watched. Emmerdale viewers took to Twitter to criticise Tom’s blunder, pointing out an ‘easily found’ piece of evidence that could bring him down.
They suggested that the files would likely be stored in the cloud and easily accessible to the police. One viewer tweeted: “He didn’t delete the evidence. That can easily be found in the cloud. #Emmerdale”, while another asked: “Just wondering if they are aware of cloud services? Such as Google Photos? #emmerdale”.
A third chimed in with: “Has Tom not heard of the cloud ? #emmerdale.” Another fan commented: “The evidence will be on the cloud #Emmerdale”, and one added: “#emmerdale this whole tablet thing – how many tablets can save hours and hours of video without it being in the cloud? ” Another viewer pointed out: “Anyone want to tell Tom everything’s probs still on the cloud #Emmerdale.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
