‘Thank god I found you’ Beth Cordingly declares love for real-life partner who is an Emmerdale legend
Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly penned the sweetest message to partner Ian Kelsey, who previously played Dave Glover on the ITV soap.
The actress, who joined the show as Ruby Fox-Miligan this year, has been in a relationship with Ian for three years and said that the former soap star was ‘really supportive’ when she landed the role.
Ian starred as Dave for two years, between 1994 and 1996. The character married Kathy Bates (Malandra Burrows), though during their engagement he shacked up with Kim Tate (Claire King).
She later fell pregnant, with Kim’s husband Frank (Norman Bowler) offering her £1m to leave Dave and tell everyone the baby is his own.
After a paternity test, it was revealed that baby Jamie actually was a true Tate.
His exit story saw a fire break out at the Home Farm nursery, with Dave perishing from his injuries.
Earlier this year, 47-year-old Beth shared a sweet snapshot of the couple together.
‘I love you on tour. I love you at home. I love you away. I love you here.
You are the stuff dreams are made of. Thank god I found you.
#stillcantbelieveyourereal,’ she wrote.
‘It’s taken me 47 years to get here. And some amazing people in my life with everyday a school day. Stay open. Own your mistakes. WE ALL MAKE THEM. I MAKE HUNDREDS EVERY DAY. Proper CRINGE ONES. So. LEARN. Life IS a marathon not a sprint. Seatbelt on. There will be time.’
She concluded: ‘Thought for the day: The good ones do exist. Keep your eyes open. And when you find them – it’s terrifying, I KNOW. But be brave and reach out your hand and don’t let go. #trustyouareenough#youareworthy#loveyourself please.
‘@iankelseyofficial I love you. Thank you for being amazing.’
Beth made her Emmerdale debut at the start of 2024, with Ruby being introduced as the mystery woman who Caleb Miligan, her ex-husband, was caught with during a passionate moment with her.
Soap superfans may recognise Beth from her role as Debbie, a cellmate of Shirley Carter’s (Linda Henry) in EastEnders back in 2017.
Her biggest role, however, is undoubtedly as PC Kerry Young in The Bill.
