Emmerdale legend regrets return: ‘I should’ve never come back’
Emmerdale’s Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) has voiced her regret over returning to the village after being released from young offenders.
The teen, as viewers will recall, was sentenced to eight months in the facility following her role in the death of Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling).
Angelica was driving the car that crashed into a wall, with Heath – who was in the back seat – pronounced dead at the scene, much to the horror of his dad Bob (Tony Audenshaw).
Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) contemplated covering up their daughter’s role in the crime, with Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) – Heath’s twin sister – receiving the blame at first, but ultimately Angel spoke out, with the truth coming to light.
The character was subsequently handed a sentence in young offenders, with Nicola and Jimmy left devastated by the development.
But after months of anguish, the parent were delighted to hear on Thursday (October 31) that their beloved Angelica was due to released the following day.
The news couldn’t have come at a worse time though, with Nicola having come to suspect that Tom (James Chase) – who has been staying in Angel’s room in her absence – is actually guilty of abusing Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
Nicola and Jimmy had agreed to let the situation with Tom lie for now until they ease Angel back into the village, but that proved more difficult than Nicola had expected, with Tom’s presence winding her up.
Angel, meanwhile, was met by a stunned Bob, who was taken aback by her return. Although the two were civil with one another, the confrontation was the last thing Angelica needed and thus she told her dad that she should’ve never come back.
Matters were complicated further when she entered Victoria Cottage to find Nicola telling Tom exactly what she thinks of him, which led to her running off.
Jimmy claimed that Nicola owed him and Tom an apology but Nicola was more concerned with Angel and thus she set off to make sure her daughter was okay.
After a heart-to-heart with Angel, Nicola resolved to put her children – including Carl Holliday (Charlie Joyce) – first and thus they moved out of Victoria Cottage, refusing to return home until Tom was gone.
Jimmy was left reeling. Will he come to realise that Nicola’s view of Tom is accurate?
