Emmerdale returnee Ross Barton targets a villager next week in a secret plot to take him down.
The character is seeking revenge it seems, amid a new development in a storyline for him and Caleb Miligan. Soon an altercation leads to Ross teaming up with another resident, wanting to get payback against Caleb.
It all kicks off following the arrival of Caleb’s daughter Stephanie Miligan, with her and Ross teased to have a romance. With Caleb spotting the pair together and finding out about Ross’ history, he warns him away from her sparking further drama.
Next week he takes things one step further and refuses to give Ross a job, amid his plan to turn things around after the unlicensed boxing matches, that got him into big trouble. With him keen to prove to son Moses and others that he can be a good dad, he goes looking for work only to be told no.
Meanwhile Jai Sharma feels betrayed as would-be business partner Caleb, who has been scamming him, ends their partnership. He then offers him a job with the company, but offers a higher role to Steph sparking anger from Jai.
Hearing that Steph could be his boss leaves him fuming, and soon he gets an idea when he sees the drama with Ross unfolding. Caleb turns Ross away from the Depot, and once again warns him away from Steph.
Jai realises what is going on and wastes no time in working it to his advantage. He grabs Ross and proposes a scheme, formulating a plan to get back at Caleb for once and for all.
He suggests to Ross that he should steal some of Caleb’s valuable stock from the Depot, and soon reveals there’s some new merchandise coming there the next day. With Kerry Wyatt also now working there, Jai does his best to distract her while Ross carries out their plan.
Ross swiftly moves into steal one of the vans containing all the produce, heading away from the location and taking it to a barn. But when Ross gets there and prepares to unload what he’s stolen he’s stopped in his tracks.
He’s mortified when he finds Steph amongst the stock and he’s left having to explain himself. As Steph questions what he’s planning, what will he say and will he get himself out of his latest dodgy dealing?
