Emmerdale video confirms sad hospital goodbye for Cain and Moira after making ‘lovely’ memories
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) fears the worst in Emmerdale as she prepares to undergo surgery, saying goodbye to husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) shortly before the procedure.
The farmer, as viewers know, developed issues with her behaviour and personality changes earlier this year. She would flirt with Cain and then hours later, argue and shout at him, leaving him wondering what was going on.
It was a barn fire at Butlers involving Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) that allowed Moira to get the answers she was after, as she was told by a doctor that she has a tumour in her brain.
At first, Moira was certain she didn’t want to have an operation, fearful of what might happen during or after the surgery, but it was sons Kyle (Huey Quinn) and Isaac (Bobby Dunsmuir) that made her change her mind.
After a trip away to visit Adam (Adam Thomas), Moira returns to the village in upcoming episodes and, next Wednesday (November 20), she heads to the hospital for the big day.
The above video clip, taken from the episode of the ITV soap in question, sees Moira and Cain in the waiting room ahead of the operation. Moira reflects on how fun the previous day was when they both spent time with the kids, with such a thing making Cain smile.
Cain assures Moira that there will be more opportunities to have good times like this in the future. Moira is hopeful of such a thing but she remains sceptical, telling her husband that if she wakes up and everything in her head is ‘gone’, then she’s glad they had that time together.
Cain struggles to contemplate losing her. Soon afterwards, Moira is summoned for surgery and she and Cain head through the doors.
The events take place in a special episode that focuses on Cain’s day as he struggles with everything that’s going on.
Cain’s story will play in reverse chronological order and begins with his brother Caleb Miligan (William Ash) finding Cain drunk and with blood on his hands.
Discussing the storyline, actress Natalie J Robb told Metro: ‘He internalises everything Cain, and that’s the problem.
‘Moira knows that with him, that’s why she’s always checking on him and worrying, she’ll always know when there’s something not quite right whereas Moira’s trying to get everything out, because to her this could be the last time she gets to say it to him, so it’s important that she does vocalise things.’
