Emmerdale legend reunites with ‘boyfriend’ co-star: ‘Did you miss me?’
Emmerdale star Alfie Clarke has reunited off-screen with his former co-star Max Fletcher.
Aflie, who plays Arthur Thomas on the ITV soap, was delighted to catch up with Max, who appeared as Arthur’s boyfriend Marshall Hamston.
After an evening together, the pair posed together for a photo that Alfie shared on Instagram on Wednesday.
Captioning the snap, Alfie wrote: ‘Did you miss me @maxfletcher2008.’
Max commented: ‘Always. Great catching up with you.’
Marshall was introduced on the ITV soap in January last year as a love interest for Arthur, who told his mates shortly after coming out as gay that he had a crush on the teen.
The two boys bonded almost straight away but things became complicated when Marshall’s homophobic dad Colin (Mark Noble) did everything in his power to keep them apart.
Arthur, however, refused to sit back and watch as Colin abused Marshall, confiding in mum Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), who decided to take the teen in to live with her.
Marshall and Arthur’s romance was well received by Emmerdale fans, with many making positive comparisons to Netflix’s Heartstopper.
However, their happiness was short lived when Marshall left the village in July last year to live with his aunt, breaking things off with Alfie.
In more recent months, Arthur developed what first started as harmless crush on newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
It then spiralled into something Arthur struggled to control, as Laurel overheard a conversation with his friend April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and believed John had taken advantage of her teenage son.
Arthur soon confessed that he had lied about sleeping with John.
