Emmerdale star ‘bawling eyes out’ as emotional story confirmed for fan-favourite
Emmerdale star Beth Cordingly has confirmed there are emotional scenes ahead for her character Ruby Fox-Miligan as she shared an update from filming.
The actress revealed she has been ‘bawling her eyes out’ while shooting new scenes for the ITV soap.
It will likely spark speculation from fans that Ruby’s recent betrayal of husband Caleb Miligan (William Ash) could come spilling out, after Ruby and Caleb’s brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) slept together in a shock twist last week.
In a post she shared on Instagram, Beth revealed Ruby is ‘doing a lot of crying’, joking it felt like ‘free therapy’ for her.
In an accompanying video, she said: ‘Well that was a jolly start to today’s filming.
‘“Sit in a car please, Beth, and and ball your eyes out.”
‘I was feeling quite happy earlier!’ she laughed.
Beth added in the caption: ‘Poor old baggy eyes…! No wonder they’re always swollen!!!’
Emmerdale fans were left stunned last week when Cain and Ruby slept together just as Cain’s wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumour.
Beth shared a similar reaction on Instagram after the episode aired on Thursday.
‘I know, it’s bad innit? It’s really bad,’ she said.
‘What’s going to happen when Moira finds out? I’m scared! And Caleb. Moira’s probably more scary.’
She continued: ‘When they told me in the storyline meeting that was going to happen, I literally went like this, “Arrrrghhhhhh!”’
Actress Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, had previously revealed how she’d pleaded with Emmerdale bosses to keep Moira and Cain together.
She told Metro: ‘I think it’s really important that they stay together. I had this chat with [producer] Iain MacLeod, we were talking about marriage and I said ‘Marriages go through things – there’s temptation, there’s things that can happen.’
It’s been a busy few weeks for Ruby in the Dales, as she has also been dealing with the sudden arrival of her long-lost daughter Steph (Georgia Jay), who she had not seen in over a decade.
She was then hit with another huge shock when her estranged father Anthony (Nicholas Day) then also turned up in the village.
