Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) is in a quandary – she wants to forge a relationship with her long-lost daughter, but keeping her debts levelled is also a top priority. That means she must continue being Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) pawn in Emmerdale, and means she is about to put someone in terrible danger.

She surprises even herself with her ruthlessness.

The ‘Bring Down Kim Tate’ revenge plan of Ruby’s is moving too slow for her – especially as it’s all she has to focus on now that Nicky (Lewis Cope) is gone. Ruby issues yet another stark warning to Rose to pull her finger out.

Their tete-a-tete is almost discovered by Will (Dean Andrews), but Rose manages to turn this into an opportunity by blagging her way out of it and then out of nowhere, going in for a snog.

It’s a bold and distracting move and Will (Dean Andrews) doesn’t know what to make of it – Rose can’t read him enough to tell if he’ll report back to Kim.

While her actions don’t reach the ears of the matriarch of Home Farm, Rose is floored to hear Will advise Kim (Claire King) it’s time to kick her out.

Time to pivot on the plan – Rose thinks on her feet and attempts to distract them from her by setting loose a precious horse. Her dirty trick works, they’re so caught up in catching the creature that they forget about her.

Later she’s seen on the outskirts of the village accepting a vial of tranquiliser from an unsavoury looking fella who tells her to await further instruction. Her plans are taking a dark turn.

Rose is overwhelmed with joy when Dawn (Olivia Bromley) finally calls her mum, but it’s not enough to dissuade her from carrying out Ruby’s plan, though she does pause for a moment to question whether she can go through with it.

The answer is yes, she can, and she spikes Will’s drink with the tranquiliser in a bid to incapacitate him so that she can have her way with him.

But when Dawn and Kim return home and decide to also partake in a beveragino alongside Will, the glasses get mixed up and Rose is now unsure who exactly is drinking from the poisoned chalice.

It soon becomes clear when something terrible happens to the person who necks the drink, and a guilty Rose is to blame. What has she done?
