An Emmerdale fan has ‘worked out’ how Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi) and Ella Forster (Paula Lane) leave the show.
It was reported in October that Roxy, 41, was leaving the ITV soap after 16 years.
The character, who made her arrival way back in 2008, is mum to Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) and the ex-wife of Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Meanwhile, Paula, 38, is also set to depart the serial. On her acting Spotlight page, a brief description reads: ‘Currently appearing as series regular Ella in Emmerdale ITV filming until February 2025.’
This would suggest that her final scenes would air in the months that followed, and could involve Ella getting her revenge on Leyla.
Ella was introduced with an air of mystery, with nobody quite guessing correctly what it was she was hiding.
She developed a connection with Liam when the pair began working together in the GP surgery, though any chances of a relationship were blown apart when her secret was revealed.
She would regularly visit a lady called June in a care home, who turned out to be the mother of a girl that Ella killed when she was a child.
With her past exposed, she was eventually accepted by the villagers. This was quite a rarity for her, after being driven out of several homes in the past.
Presently, Liam is romancing Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), with the pair initially choosing to keep their relationship quiet to prevent Ella from getting hurt.
Knowing that both Roxy and Paula are leaving, one fan has now thrown out a killer, speculative social media post, and they could seriously be onto something!
Writing on X, @DannyMFansite said: ‘Why does Ella feel so entitled to Liam? He was never that into her in the first place and Mandy bolstering her is only egging her on in her beliefs.
‘I feel she may try & murder Chas but take out Leyla instead, in the dark. I feel the village will regret welcoming Ella. #emmerdale.’
Ella returning to her villainous past could certainly be plausible, and undoubtedly lead to a more concrete end for the character who struggled to make Emmerdale a permanent, forever home.
After 30 years of the Dingles recently being celebrated, it would also provide a juicy storyline for Chas to get her teeth into.
It would be quite a memorable exit story for Leyla, after almost two decades in the rural drama.
This would undoubtedly see a resurfacing of emotions for Liam, just four years on from his daughter Leanna’s death at the hands of another murderer, Meena Jutla.
