Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ who will buy David’s shop as Eric Pollard makes ultimate sacrifice
Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) has found himself in serious financial bother in Emmerdale after investing his life savings into cryptocurrency.
With his own account empty, he left Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) devastated when he stole her savings for another investment.
In last night’s episode, Eric promised to sell the shop in order to get her money back – and fans think they’ve worked out who will buy it.
‘It doesn’t look good for Eric and Brenda’s no expense spared future, but maybe selling the shop would help?’ One fan wrote in an Emmerdale Facebook group.
‘Definitely, he said he will but I think Kim could buy it off him,’ another responded.
‘Yes Kim Tate!’ A third said.
Kim Tate (Claire King) has been known to be a powerful businesswoman, so could her next venture see her buy David’s Shop?
We know that she can certainly afford it, having recently been prepared to part with hundreds of thousands of pounds in order to get husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) out of the village.
Recent scenes have seen Kim and Will plotting against each other following the dramatic collapse of their marriage.
Will Kim succeed in driving Will away and end up buying the shop as a way to start afresh?
It was recently announced that Brenda is set to leave Emmerdale in the near future, after 16 years on the show.
Could she be set to leave Eric after his massive betrayal?
In real life, co-stars Lesley and Chris are actually married, having tied the knot eight years after first meeting on set at Emmerdale.
‘Everyone thinks it’s the younger members of the cast who have all the fun but we more mature ones do, too,’ Chris told the Daily Record in 2012.
‘It was weird. Somehow we’d never met before and we just kept bumping into each other at work.
‘I can’t even remember if I asked her for a date or she asked me but she is wonderful and we’re very happy.’
