Samson seals his own fate in Emmerdale ‘exit story’ as he makes shocking confession

A source recently revealed that death might be on the horizon for young Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) in Emmerdale as his exit looms, but that was rubbished by the actor himself, who said that the bosses are leaving Samson very much alive and with scope to return. So, this leaves two possibilities; prison, or going on the run.

With Samson having proven himself to be a bit of a coward to date (Esther, Craig, and now not standing against Josh), the latter of the two is the most likely scenario.

Numerous people have tried to get Samson to confess to his lies, with even Kerry getting involved and ham-fistedly attempting to illicit the truth about the situation. No one had any success, until now.

There’s one person who has enough power over Samson to make him crack, and it’s Lydia (Karen Blick) whose suspicious nose told her something was up with Samson’s story of the events. She picked up on Samson’s strange behaviour and started to suspect that he was telling porkies about the Matty (Ash Palmisciano) stabbing incident.

Lydia finally gets the truth out of him and, being salt of the Earth, expects Samson to do the right thing and free Matty. Sam (James Hooton), however, does not. She’s forgotten she’s a Dingle and Dingle’s stick up for their own.

Father and son plan a clandestine meeting to arrange next steps, i.e. get Samson the heck out of dodge and spare him the realities of confessing. But savvy Lydia is onto them and crashes their secret little rendezvous.

She begs Samson to do the right thing and for once he listens, which results in him surprising everyone by actually going to the Police station. Instead of complaining of harassment this time, he tells the truth about the stabbing. Lydia chalks that one up to a success, except that Sam now hates her guts.

Moira (Natalie J Robb) is hugely relieved at this surprising turn of events, but Sam is raging at Cain (Jeff Hordley) for destroying his family, and goes as far as to knock his brother out.

Word gets back to Matty, and it looks like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. But he’s not in the sunny clearing yet – as he’s taken back to his cell, Robbo is there waiting.

So, Samson’s confession may have come a little too late after all that.

Cain regains consciousness and endeavours to stop Samson from doing a bunk, which sends things between him and Sam escalating again.

Samson is now under 24-hour flight risk watch while Moira and Amy wait for news. But is it all too late?
