Emmerdale’s Moira bursts into tears as she gets unexpected and upsetting health update
Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) was left in tears after learning that she needs radiotherapy as doctors fear her tumour could return.
The much-loved village legend, as viewers know, underwent an operation last month after a tumour was found in her brain.
Though complications arose during the procedure, the surgery was ultimately a success, with Moira retuning home to Butlers earlier this week during her recovery.
Cain (Jeff Hordley), meanwhile, was left riddled with guilt after he cheated on Moira with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly).
Unable to stay under the same roof as his wife, he made his excuses, claiming he was on a job as he left the village.
Moira worried that he wouldn’t return in time for her appointment and her theory proved correct, with Cain deliberately avoiding her calls as he headed to the garage to distract himself, with Liam (Jonny McPherson) desperately trying to talk some sense into him.
Realising Liam was correct, Cain hopped in his car and made a beeline for the hospital, damaging Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) in the process.
The hard-man, however, was pulled over by PC Swirling (Andy Moore) and his colleague, who were following up after Jai reported the incident to the police.
Cain proved his usual self and, after pushing Swirling, he was arrested and taken to the police station.
PC Swirling proved compassionate over Cain’s situation, allowing him to ring Moira to find out how her appointment went.
Moira was seething when she heard what had happened, berating Cain for getting into trouble instead of being by her side when she needed him the most.
She claimed that she was fine but, after hanging up the phone, the matriarch told son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) that she needs radiotherapy as she burst into tears.
Will Moira get the help she needs from Cain as she embarks on yet another tough road?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
