Emotional goodbyes as two Emmerdale stars exit for good
This article contains spoilers for last night’s episode of Emmerdale, which is already streaming on ITVX.
Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) and daughter Esther have waved goodbye to the Dales for good, as Emmerdale aired a double exit on Friday.
But the pair’s final episode also featured a surprise for fans of the ITV soap, as Daz Spencer (Mark Jordon) made a return.
Amelia made the decision to leave the village following the conclusion of ex-boyfriend Tom King’s (James Chase) trial earlier this week.
Viewers saw him get a three-year sentence for his abuse and control of wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), with Amelia instrumental in helping bring him to justice, having also experienced his controlling behaviour when they got together earlier this year.
The beginning of Friday’s episode saw Amelia apologise to Belle for the way she behaved when she’d originally tried to warn Amelia about Tom’s true colours.
At Wishing Well, the two women looked to the future, now being able to start the rest of their lives.
Back in the village, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) was stunned to see Amelia’s dad Daz hanging around, having last been seen in the Dales five years ago.
Amelia then told a devastated Kerry, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) that she planned to move to Lecister later that day to live with Daz, and would be taking daughter Esther with her.
Kerry reacted badly to the news and stormed out, heading to speak with Belle to try and get her to persuade Amelia to stay.
However, Belle pointed out that it was Amelia’s choice and by trying to control her actions, it would make them no better than Tom.
Seeing sense, Kerry headed back to the village just in time to catch Amelia, as the locals gathered to say their goodbyes.
The pair shared an emotional farewell as Kerry also threatened Daz she would mow him down in a hit and run if he did not look after them.
