As Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) world continues to fall apart in Emmerdale, he turns his attention back to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), targeting her on the day of Rishi’s death.

Rishi died suddenly last year after falling down the stairs. At first, we were led to believe he died due to a tragic accident, but then his brother Amit arrived.

It was eventually revealed that Amit pushed Rishi down the stairs after an argument about business and money. When Jai discovered the truth and the fact his biological father was actually a corrupt businessman, he got revenge.

Jai held Amit hostage at Holdgate and then told him to leave the village for India without saying goodbye to anyone. This secret was exposed to Laurel a few weeks ago and because of the overwhelming stress, she then experienced a heart attack afterwards.

Laurel has told Jai time and time again that they won’t be getting back together after his horrific behaviour. Next week though she grows frustrated – why can’t he get the message?

After her catch up with Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), Laurel is cornered by Jai. During their chat, he gets angry at her for mentioning solicitors on the day of his dad’s death, and their wedding anniversary.

While at work, Lauren grows frustrated when Jai slithers in and starts making things difficult.

The next day, things remain awkward at work between Jai and Laurel. He continues to belittle her, which leaves Laurel and the other employees feeling awkward.

As Jai expresses his thoughts on Laurel apparently planning on rinsing him in the divorce, he quickly realises his marital woes are becoming village gossip.

Are things set to get worse for him?
