Ruby breaks in Emmerdale as vile Anthony takes more vulgar action
Much-loved character Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has been on edge ever since her father Anthony (Nicholas Day) arrived in Emmerdale.
In an episode of the ITV soap which aired a few weeks ago, flashback scenes allowed us to discover why Ruby is so fearful of her dad. After Ruby’s 16th birthday party, her dad entered her bedroom and explained they were now alone in the house.
The scenes then developed, allowing the audience to discover Anthony had been sexually abusing Ruby.
Away from this secret, Anthony has done his best to slot himself into the family. He is charming, intrigued by Caleb’s (William Ash) Dingle clan and so far, the act is working.
In upcoming episodes, Cain (Jeff Hordley) snaps and is rude to Anthony. Wanting to keep their one-night stand a secret from everyone, Ruby tells her dad to ignore him.
In the pub later that day, Ruby corners Cain and says he needs to avoid Anthony if they want to keep their secret hidden. Unbeknownst to them both, the evil man is watching their conversation unfold.
Curious, Anthony approaches Ruby and pushes for answers regarding her relationship with Cain. Eventually, she snaps and reveals they slept together.
Later, as the villagers gather in the pub to celebrate the start of the new year, Anthony decides to make a speech, which leaves Ruby and Cain on tenterhooks.
Witnessing Ruby reach for more and more alcohol to cope with her stresses is Chas (Lucy Pargeter). Worried about her, Chas tries to get Ruby to open up and eventually, she breaks her silence.
But what exactly will she tell Chas?
And what will Anthony say in his speech?
