Jorgie Porter unveils unique name for her newborn baby and it’s all kinds of sweet
Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has revealed the unique name of her baby girl.
The star, 37, who has played Theresa McQueen intermittently since 2008, announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram last month with a sweet picture of her hand.
‘She’s here …..! We are complete,’ she wrote alongside the photo, before thanking staff at Wigan Hospital.
Jorgie – who shares 2 year old son Forest with fiancé Ollie Piotrowski – announced her second pregnancy in the final episode of axed ITVBe reality series Drama Queens, which followed the lives of some of our favourite soap stars.
She previously announced the gender of her new baby in an emotional Instagram post, sharing pictures from her gender reveal party.
She captioned the wholesome post: ‘Thank you soooo much for all your messages! We still can’t believe it. We’re having a GIRL.’
Now, she has revealed the name of her newborn – Peony – and the adorable reason behind it.
‘We’d not heard of anyone with the name Peony and I love the flowers, they’re so beautiful’ she explained.

‘But we were literally desperate to tell people her name before someone else had a baby and chose it before us!
‘We didn’t give her a middle name because she’s Peony Porter Piotrowski which is already quite a lot for a kid to say, isn’t it?’
In a chat with OK! Magazine, Jorgie said that her pregnancy felt like ‘the longest time’, continuing: ‘Margot Robbie had her baby about a week after she announced her pregnancy – I was pregnant for what felt like 100 years!’
Last month, she declared 2024 ‘the year of pregnancy’ in a social media post reflecting on the past 12 months.
‘It feels like I’ve spent the entire year pregnant, but we’ve ended it in the best way possible – welcoming our beautiful baby girl and creating amazing memories along the way’ she penned.
‘Our babymoon in Rome with my @olliepiotrowski was unforgettable. He truly is the most supportive partner, and I couldn’t have done it without him.

‘Together… we are exhausted. Here’s to 2025 – hopefully with a bit more sleep and plenty more adventures ahead!’
The happy news comes after Jorgie previously opened up about losing quadruplets at 14 weeks in 2021.
During an episode of Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, Jorgie discussed becoming pregnant with quadruplets and the emotional ordeal she went through after being told the embryos had stopped developing.
Her Hollyoaks alter-ego Theresa departed the village last month to work in Japan, a storyline devised to facilitate her maternity leave.
