Hollyoaks reveals shocking new villain in early streaming release
Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (January 21), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks has revealed an unexpected new villain in Rex Gallagher’s mysterious scheme, in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Jacob blackmailed Rex to let his mum Kat go, using the gun that Rex used to shoot Grace at Christmas as leverage.
Grace found out what Rex had done and offered Jacob more money to dispose of the gun. Meanwhile, Freddie found CCTV footage of Jacob at the garage on New Year’s Eve.
Before Grace could give Jacob the money, DI Banks arrived in the village to arrest him for the shooting – with Grace left scared that Jacob would tell the truth about what happened.
In today’s episode, DI Banks gave Freddie and Grace an update about Jacob, saying that the CCTV footage was inconclusive and there was no evidence about his involvement.
Later, Freddie and Robbie ran into Mercedes in Price Slice. Robbie told his brother to stop pining over her and get on with his life with Grace.
Meanwhile, Rex explained to Grace what he had got involved in, and asked her to deal with his mysterious boss instead and get him out of the situation – but she refused.
Back at home, Freddie told Robbie that he and Grace used to be dangerous and exciting, but now they are stuck in a rut. Grace overheard the conversation and was left devastated.
Rex found Grace crying at the garage, where she questioned all her life choices. She agreed to change her plans and meet up with his crime boss.
She arrived at the meeting place with a gun and told the man in the car – who turned out to be none other than DI Banks – that he would be dealing with her from now on.
That evening, Freddie, Robbie and Rex got a shock when Grace returned to the flat glammed up and dressed like her former self.
She later told Rex that she hadn’t got him out of the scheme, and she instead wanted them, as Fraser Black’s children, to return to the crime world and take over the whole operation.
