Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (January 29) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) and Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) have decided to give things another go and viewers couldn’t be any happier.
The popular couple garnered quite a following last year, with Lucas subjected to cruel conversion therapy while Dillon did everything he could to save him.
Despite all the obstacles thrown their way, they finally found happiness and made things official by becoming boyfriends.
Things, however, went awry for the characters soon afterwards, with Dillon cheating on Lucas with his sister Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan) while his beau was in young offenders, meaning that he’s the father of baby James.
Lucas struggled to process such a thing and officially called things off but, despite his best efforts, he simply couldn’t stop loving Dillon.
Earlier this week, he resolved to find out once and for all if he and Dillon had a future as he planned to cook for his former flame after securing a job at The Hutch.
The meal didn’t exactly go to plan, with Dillon getting into a row with Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) over baby James, but upon learning of Lucas’ desire to give him another chance, Dillon was swift in trying to make it up to his ex-boyfriend.
Old feelings reignited and they shared a kiss.
Having obtained the keys to Weirside View – Lucas’ former family home – from Rex (Johnny Labey), Dillon took his boyfriend by the hand and led him to the property.
One thing led to another and the former couple slept together before discussing their future. Dillon was adamant that he wanted this to be more than a ‘one off’ – a sentiment which Lucas echoed.
As Dillon was summoned to Christleton Terrace, he brought along Lucas, much to the delight of Misbah and Ste (Kieron Richardson).
Ste offered to lend a hand in supporting Dillon with baby James now that he’s feeling up to it, news which came as a delight to Dillon, who has been struggling to cope with being a new dad.
Sam Smith’s Stay With Me – a very special track for Lucas and Dillon – accompanied the subsequent moments as the couple shared a hug with Misbah, excited for their new chapter.
Fans couldn’t be happier about having HayRay back together and they wasted little time in taking to social media in the wake of the episode in question.
‘HAYRAY ARE BACK TOGETHER,’ exclaimed X – formerly known as Twitter – user Emma, while Amy added: ‘i really didn’t think dillon and lucas would actually get back together omg’.
Another fan said: ‘Hayray fans won so hard, especially after losing for months on end.’
The fans are ecstatic, that’s for sure, but the question is: will Dillon and Lucas’ happiness be short-lived?
With Rex seemingly still intent on causing trouble for Dillon, it’s possible that there could be more troubling times ahead but you’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
