TV star bids farewell to iconic show: ‘Thank you’
Hollyoaks star Tyler Conti has thanked cast and crew on the Channel 4 soap after his epic departure.
Tyler joined the show as personal trainer Abe Fielding in January last year, and it soon became apparent that he had a sinister side.
The character became central to the show’s time jump story, which resulted in him holding Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) hostage in his eaves storage for over a year.
He gaslit Cleo into believing that she was responsible for the death of his mum Marie (Rita Simons) – despite her still being alive.
After making her escape, she accidentally fell in front of a car and spent time in a coma. When she woke, she bravely opened up to her family about the hell she had gone through.
In the meantime, he had begun to target his girlfriend Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell). She woke up one morning and realised that he had raped her in her sleep.
Little did Peri realise, he’d also sexually assaulted her mother Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter).
He finally met a grizzly end in yesterday’s edition at the hands of murderous Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield).
Cleo had already got her own back, keeping Abe hostage in the same room she was placed in captivity for months. There was one issue though – she didn’t know how to exact her final revenge.
Luckily, Jez swooped in and helped her finish the job.
He was fearful that Abe would expose his murder of Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey-Smith), taking him to some woodland under the pretence of allowing him to flee.
As he strolled off, Jez ran up from behind and throttled him.
Having cemented himself as one of Hollyoaks’ most evil characters ever, Tyler has paid tribute as his last episode aired.
‘Honestly couldn’t ask for a better last block, crew and cast to see my @hollyoaksofficial journey to a close,’ he wrote.
‘Thank you everyone so so much. Special thanks to @wilkinson47 for steering the madness. I will miss you all. Abe out x’
His co-stars flocked to the comment section, with Nancy Osbourne actress Jessica Fox writing: ‘Congratulations Tyler on a cracking job and always being such a joy – I’m glad to have been given the opportunity to get to know you (and feed you) – keep up the adventures.’
