Hollyoaks confirms the end for Lucas and Dillon – as story takes dark turn
Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (March 4) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Just weeks after their heartfelt reunion, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) and Dillon Ray’s (Nathaniel Dass) romance has reached an end once again.
Lucas, as viewers know, decided to give Dillon another shot after he cheated on him with sister Leah Barnes (Ela-May Demircan) during the ‘missing’ year, with the two looking to the future as they moved in together.
Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey), however, has proven a thorn in their side, with Lucas growing increasingly concerned about the influence the gangster is having on Dillon and Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith).
Lucas called the police on Rex, who was storing stolen goods at Weirside View, but Rex’s associates intercepted the call and thus prevented the report from going any further.
Rex used the situation to his advantage, putting pressure on Dillon and Frankie to deal drugs at a party to make up for Lucas’ actions.
Dillon and Frankie agreed to do just that, much to the dismay of Lucas, who subsequently took drugs from a cup after Frankie branded him ‘miserable’.
Lucas lost consciousness at the close of Monday’s (March 3) edition of the soap, with Frankie and Dillon fearing the worst.
With Rex declaring that an ambulance was out of the question due to the drugs on the premises, Dillon borrowed the car of a party-goer and raced his boyfriend to hospital.

Once at the hospital, he and Frankie unloaded Lucas from the vehicle and left him outside the building on his own, hoping that he would receive the medical attention he needed while they headed back to Weirside View to remove any trace of drugs from the house.
Dillon felt guilty about abandoning Lucas and thus returned to the hospital on Frankie’s say so. Lucas regained consciousness and, heartbroken, recalled how his boyfriend had ‘left him to die’.

Dillon attempted to explain himself but Lucas wasn’t interested, recalling the summer they spent together scraping enough cash to go on holiday. He said that he loved the ‘old’ Dillon, claiming that he doesn’t know who his boyfriend is anymore and thus finished with him.
Rex, meanwhile, persuaded Dillon to move on with Cooper (Chris Eastwood) – the guy whose car he borrowed earlier. Dillon headed to the bedroom, where Cooper followed – but not before he handed Rex a wad of cash in exchange for a night with Dillon.
Is this really the end of Lucas and Dillon?

Will Lucas realise the true extent of what Rex is up to and thus help his former flame? And what’s more, will Dillon try to back out now that Lucas nearly lost his life?
Next week will see Lucas reiterate that he wants Dillon and Rex to stay away from him – but with Rex growing closer to Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) once again, it seems Dillon and Frankie aren’t the only loved ones that Lucas will be feeling the need to protect from the gangster.
