The Mandy Richardson star had been given the ultimatum by bosses working on the Channel 4 soap – delete the account or leave the show.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun almost four years on, Sarah has revealed working on soaps is a tough job.
The actress admitted stars across shows are constantly ‘terrified’ they’ll lose their jobs – and it’s heightened when a new producer is brought in.
Sarah explained: “New producers tend to come in and want to put their stamp on the show. And so they come in and they shake things up and they get rid of people.
“Sometimes it works and often it doesn’t. So I think that’s been an ever-changing landscape that I’ve experienced over the years being in Hollyoaks.
“Each time a new producer comes in, things change and everyone’s a bit like ‘oh my God, am I gonna lose my job?’ You just don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
The Sun previously revealed how Hollyoaks was culling cast members as it left Channel 4 and had its weekly episode count reduced.
Meanwhile, this year Coronation Street saw a cast exodus from the Weatherfield cobbles.
“When I joined OnlyFans, one of the reasons was to find something that would give me some sort of security alongside the show.
“Because you’re contracted, but that contract doesn’t really mean anything because at any time they can go, ‘do you know what, we’ve had enough of your character now’, or ‘we’re doing this massive storyline’.
“So particularly when new producers come in, you just don’t know what their plans are. You don’t know if they like you as a character.”
Meanwhile, Sarah told Sun Club how she feels safer on OnlyFans than Hollyoaks after revealing how a crazed fan bombarded her with explicit messages and pictures.
