Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks‘ Liberty Savage has always been unlucky in love, but her latest romantic conquest Jez Blake might be a step too far. Not only is Jez the dad of Liberty’s half-siblings, but he’s engaged to be married – and is also a secret serial killer.

But Jez’s desperate attempt to keep his crimes under wraps recently led to unexpected passion, and now Liberty is besotted with someone who she really ought to avoid at all costs. As Jez’s wedding to John Paul fast approaches, Liberty’s jealousy threatens to bubble over.

Jessamy Stoddart, who plays the bubbly character, joins us at Inside Soap for an exclusive chat about the drama to come for Liberty…

Hi Jessamy! Has Liberty considered how her family would react to her affair?

“I don’t think she’s put that as far at the front of her mind as she probably should! If she thought too far into the future, it would hurt her even more, but at the minute she’s just going with the flow – even if the flow is a bit naughty!

“It’s like a whirlwind romance, and Liberty’s set Jez and John Paul’s wedding as the end date.”

How would Liberty feel if she found out about Jez’s string of murders?

“She would be completely devastated, because obviously finding out anyone is a serial killer would be horrific. But she wouldn’t be able to trust anyone after that, and it would really grind away at her long term. Plus, Jez killed her cousin Dennis, so it’s too close to home. If she found out, there’d be hell to pay.”

How did you feel about Dennis officially being killed off?

“Devastated. I loved working with Joe Tracini [who played Dennis] so much. He is the most wonderful, giving actor that you could work with, and he is an absolute hoot!”

“I think there will be a lot of drama – it’s a Hollyoaks wedding, when is there not? I can potentially say that Liberty won’t be as involved as you think she might be. There might be drama unfolding of its own accord, and it’s almost like she’s been saved by the bell.”
