Hollyoaks star Charlie Behan has revealed a dramatic career change following soap axe.

The young actor, 19, who has played Charlie Dean since 2011, is set to say goodbye to the Channel 4 soap in the coming weeks.

Charlie played a huge role in the show’s County Lines drug dealing storyline throughout 2020. The character also falsely took the blame for Jordan Price’s stabbing at The Hutch.

However, the star is showing no signs of slowing down as he recently shared with fans what he’s been working on behind the scenes.

In his latest YouTube video, the youngster shared a 34 minute of him DJing and showing various tracks.

Last year, Charlie’s character – also called Charlie – was at the centre of a powerful mental health narrative that saw him attempt to end his life.

Sadly, it has now been confirmed Charlie will depart the soap as the mass axing of cast members carry on.

‘Charlie will be leaving Hollyoaks on screen in the coming weeks’, a source told Digital Spy.

‘It’s a sad time for his co-stars as he was a popular cast member on set and had a great relationship with the other younger cast and his on-screen family, the Osbornes.’

The long-running Channel 4 soap has had its weekly episodes slashed from five to three, with approximately 20 cast members having been let go in order to facilitate the changes.

But a number of high-profile casualties including legendary Hollyoaks icons Cindy and Tom Cunningham have left fans frustrated after actors Stephanie Waring and Ellis Hollins confirmed that the decision to leave wasn’t theirs.
