Hollyoaks confirms reunion for Lucas and Dillon – but heartbreak is sealed

Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) is released from young offenders in Hollyoaks next week and he wastes little time in tracking down the one person he’s missed the most in Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass).

The popular character is currently serving a sentence for attacking JJ Osborne (Ryan Mulvey) after he found out that he’d sexually abused Frankie (Isabelle Smith).

Frankie, as viewers know, is Lucas’ best friend, with the pair having grown close in episodes transmitted near the beginning of the year.

In terms of Hollyoaks’ timeline, the events in question were almost two years ago, after the Channel 4 soap took a historic time jump one year into the future.

Dillon, who has been dating Lucas for well over a year now, has been pining for his beau to return home – but he’s also scared of what might be revealed when they reunite.

An unexpected twist last month confirmed that the father of Leah Barnes’ (Ela-May Demircan) baby was none other than Dillon, which means that he cheated on Lucas – with his boyfriend’s brother.

Frankie discovers such a thing next week when she spots Dillon in the company of baby James, putting two and two together, which inevitably leaves her with a dilemma on whether or not she should inform bestie Lucas about what his other half has been up to.

Lucas stages his return to the eponymous village on Wednesday (October 16) and he comes to realise that a lot has changed in his absence.

Frankie is delighted to have her best friend back, while Ste (Kieron Richardson) reunites with his son at the Lomax household, where Lucas meets his nephew for the first time – remaining blissfully unaware that Dillon is the dad.

It’s an emotional moment as Lucas tells Ste how much he’s missed him, fearing that he would never wake up from his coma.

He’s nervous about going to see Dillon but Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) interjects, telling him that his boyfriend has missed him so much, revealing that he was so supportive towards Leah during her pregnancy.

At Price Slice, Frankie and Dillon get into a heated argument, with Dillon pleading with Frankie to keep shtum. Frankie, however, refuses to keep the secret – that is, until Lucas spots his boyfriend and runs towards him as the two embrace for the first time in months.

Is Lucas’ bubble about to be burst? Will Frankie tell all? Or will the boys’ emotional reunion prevent her from doing so?

Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 7am on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
