Hollyoaks legend ‘confirms’ who killed Ethan as she points the finger
Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) is left frustrated in Hollyoaks next week as she vents that Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) has been forgotten about in the investigation into his own death.
Ethan, as viewers will, was tragically killed off last month when he was pushed from the balcony of the bridal suite on what should have been the happiest day of his life, having tied the knot with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).
We’re still not over it.
Sienna was subsequently taken away in handcuffs, much to her distress, with the police believing her to be responsible for the death of her husband.
Sienna has professed her innocence repeatedly, reiterating that she would never harm Ethan given just how much she loved him but it’s not just the police that are convinced of her guilt, it’s Maxine too.
Maxine, as some viewers may recall, is actually Ethan’s niece and therefore she has taken it upon herself to get justice for her uncle and, despite the love Ethan and Sienna shared, Max remains convinced that Sienna had something to do with his death.
Jeremy (Jeremy Sheffield) is very much Team Sienna, however, and therefore he’s made it his mission to get to the bottom of what’s transpired, coming up with all sorts of half-baked theories as he embarks on his own investigation to find out who killed Ethan.
His efforts, however, aren’t appreciated by Maxine, who is simply exasperated by the whole thing. Fed up of the fact that Ethan has been forgotten about in all of this, Maxine makes her feelings known as she once again reiterates who she believes killed Ethan – stating that Sienna is to blame.
Can anyone convince Maxine that Sienna is innocent? And will Jeremy’s investigations throw up anything of note in respect to who claimed Ethan’s life?
Fan-favourite Ethan made his final appearance on Hollyoaks last month during flashbacks to Hollyoaks’ ‘missing’ year, which appeared to indicate that his and Sienna’s relationship following their reunion was not without hardship.
Metro confirmed earlier this year that Ethan was a casualty of the cast cuts, with star Matthew James Bailey telling me that he didn’t want to go.
‘I’m absolutely devastated to be leaving the show,’ he said. ‘I’ve made it clear that this is my home and I never thought it would end the way that it did. I feel like Ethan had a lot more potential and growth in him.
‘I would openly say when I thought it was time for him to step away but, to be honest, I don’t think it was the right time. I don’t think we were finished. So no, it wasn’t my choice. I would never walk away from the show.’
