‘My favourite person’: Real-life TV couple share romantic snaps to mark birthday
Former Hollyoaks star Angus Castle-Doughty has shared a series of romantic snaps to mark partner Niamh Blackshaw’s birthday.
The couple met on the set of the Channel 4 soap, where Niamh also played Juliet Nightingale.
Niamh celebrated her 26th birthday on Tuesday, which Angus – known for playing villain Eric Foster between 2022 and 2023 – marked on his Instagram Stories.
‘It’s your birthday!! @niamhblackshaw My favourite person!!’ he wrote, along with a loved-up snap.
‘Love you everything @niamhblackshaw. Here’s a picture of us before we got gunned down by norovirus.’
Niamh left Hollyoaks in 2023 after five years in the role of Juliet, who died following a terminal cancer diagnosis.
She previously spoke of how she had ‘complicated’ feelings about her Hollyoaks exit.
She told Metro last year: ‘I was very open to options as to how I would leave the show, and this exit felt like a very powerful, finite story that I was excited to do.
‘But obviously I love the character deeply and I’m upset for her – we have all once in our lives grieved a fictional character!’
She continued: ‘I’m happy to have seen her through to the end. I believe in chapters, I think they’re so important.
‘Of course, there’s a lot that I will miss and I’m very grateful for everything I have experienced.’
After leaving Hollyoaks, Niamh appeared in hit BBC drama The Jetty as Rosie.
Earlier this year, it was revealed she had joined the cast of Waterloo Road.
