Ethan’s killer confesses in Hollyoaks Winter Trailer as Darren’s fate is confirmed
Hollyoaks is set to conclude a number of its ongoing stories this festive season, with mysteries solved, answers given and fates revealed.
The Channel 4 soap, which took a time jump one year into the future in September, has dropped a brand new trailer teasing what’s to come this Winter.
The residents of the village are very much in the festive spirit and quick to celebrate Christmas but as is always the case in Hollyoaks things don’t pan out, with sinister happenings and deadly developments on the cards.
The Winter Trailer teases the conclusion to the Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) and Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) storyline, plus a few returns and a killer confession as one character confesses to Ethan Williams’ (Matthew James Bailey) murder.
Let’s take a look in more detail at what’s to come.
Ethan’s killer revealed
Fan-favourite Ethan was tragically killed off nearly two months ago and Sienna – like the rest of us – still hasn’t got over it, mourning the loss of her one true love.
After banishing the Blakes from her flat, she receives quite a shock when Martha turns up in the village.
Martha gets confused, struggling to remember as she resorts to making notes for Sienna, who is left reeling when her grandmother makes a confession, revealing that she killed Ethan.
What will Sienna do with the information? And will Ethan get justice?
Hope for Dillon and Lucas?
Following Dillon’s betrayal with Leah, Lucas has made it quite clear that they’re well and truly over. But as the New Year rolls around, will the former flames be able to reconcile in time for the fireworks?
Darren’s whereabouts confirmed
Struggling to come to terms with both what JJ did to Frankie and the abuser’s leukaemia diagnosis, Darren disappeared last month, leaving his loved ones concerned.
The much-loved character wasn’t present for Frankie’s decision to donate her bone marrow and he missed best mate Ethan’s wake, with subsequently Nancy flying out to Spain in the hopes of finding him and putting everyone’s mind at rest.
But upcoming scenes will see the situation spiral, with Nancy mission seemingly turning up nothing in her quest as she makes a TV appeal – but the stress of the situation causes her to collapse.
Darren, meanwhile, is seen hiding out in Charlie’s uni digs watching the scenes unfold on the telly. Will this prompt him to come home and help his family?
Cleo escapes
After being held captive for over a year, Cleo comes to see Abe for who he truly is. Figuring out that Marie is still alive, she makes it seem as though she’s on borrowed time as she pulls the wool over Abe’s eyes, hoping to escape before he ties the knot with Peri.
But as Abe seemingly disposes of a body in the river, has he claimed Cleo’s life? Or is there more to this than meets the eye?
Leela’s heartbreak
Joel works out that he’s not the father of baby Clara, which causes quite the showdown at the christening of the Marias. Leela, however, fights tears as she reflects on a devastating year, which leaves us wondering what really happened during the missing 12 months.
Ro collapses
Diane and Tony are beside themselves when they find Ro collapsed duo to alcohol consumption. Will they be able to help their son?
McQueen comebacks as Mercedes gets her cancer treatment
Mercedes goes to the hospital for her chemotherapy and it’s not long before she and Grace are at odds over Freddie Roscoe.
Myra and Nana, meanwhile, arrive in time for Christmas, but will this festive season be a happy one for the McQueens?
