Hollyoaks has teased Abe Fielding’s downfall, as his wedding day to Peri Lomax takes a shocking turn.
While Abe is still keeping his partner Cleo McQueen captive in his flat, on the outside he got engaged to Peri, and the pair are set to get married in December.
But next week, Cleo discovers Abe’s lies and plans a dramatic escape. Later this month, with Abe thinking she doesn’t have long to live, the pair share their wedding vows before Cleo collapses.
Abe doesn’t know what to do when Cleo doesn’t regain consciousness, so he wraps her body in a blanket and puts her in his car – with a clip from the winter trailer showing that he throws her body in the river.
The next day, Marie helps everyone to get ready for the wedding at the Lomax’s house. However, things are tense between Peri and Leela, and she tells her mum that she shouldn’t come to the wedding if she can’t support her and Abe’s relationship.
Peri is reassured by Marie that Abe is ready and waiting at the folly to marry her – but she is devastated when she later realises that Abe hasn’t arrived yet.
Meanwhile, Cleo is woken up by a passerby down at the riverbank, and even though she is covered in mud, she sets off to try and stop Abe and Peri’s wedding.
Cleo manages to chase down a passing car for a lift and is heartened when it turns out to be Pearl. She is in luck, as Pearl offers her a lift to the village.
Marie searches for Abe, and she finds her son in his flat. He tells his mum that he has done a terrible thing, but Marie insists that he needs to move on and that his marriage to Peri will wipe the slate clean.
The wedding party get ready when it is confirmed that Abe is on his way, but a shocking chain of events are set to follow. Just what happens is being kept under wraps for now, but in the aftermath, Mercedes confronts Joel – while Marie is questioned by the police.
Later, the McQueens team up and Mercedes, John Paul and Theresa confront Abe together. They know he is hiding something, and the trio leave him with a stern warning.
