Hollyoaks’ Mercedes and Freddie to make romantic Christmas escape
Plus Nana and Myra arrive!
Hollyoaks’ Mercedes McQueen and Freddie Roscoe are set to run away together, in upcoming scenes this Christmas.
The pair have grown closer as Freddie has supported Mercedes through her cancer treatment, and she recently bought him a thoughtful gift.
In Monday’s episode (December 9), Grace figured out what was going on and was devastated when Mercedes admitted she was in love with her husband.
Later this month, as Christmas approaches, Misbah finds Mercedes to talk to her about her blood results, after her latest round of chemotherapy.
Mercedes phones Freddie, explaining that she has been told they have to stop her treatment, but Grace receives the voicemail instead.
In response, Grace bans Freddie from seeing Mercedes and keeps tabs on him. He feels trapped but assures his wife that he only has eyes for her.
On Christmas Eve, Nana and Myra arrive from Alicante to spend Christmas with the McQueens in the village, but they are shocked to see Mercedes so unwell.
Mercedes tells her mum about her diagnosis, and Myra is hurt that she kept this big news from her. Freddie comes to see Mercedes but with her mum there, she tells him to leave her alone.
Freddie doesn’t give up, and he climbs in through the window to tell Mercedes that he is in love with her – while Grace notices that her husband has slipped away from the party they are attending.
Freddie asks Mercedes to run away with him tomorrow, planning to take her to a romantic cottage to escape her problems.
On Christmas Day, Freddie wakes up in Mercedes’ bedroom. When he tries to sneak out, he is caught by the McQueens, who realise what is going on and are happy for Mercedes.
Meanwhile, Grace wakes up alone and decides to put on a brave face for Curtis, suggesting that they go to The Dog for Christmas dinner with the Osbornes.
Myra discovers that Mercedes is planning to run away and is furious with her daughter. As Mercedes and Myra clash, will she decide to go with Freddie?
As New Year approaches, the McQueens find themselves on different paths, while Freddie recognises all the hurt he has caused. What is set to unfold over Christmas?
