Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) is set to stage an escape from Abe Fielding’s (Tyler Conti) horrific prison in Hollyoaks – before crashing his wedding to oblivious Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).

In pictures exclusively revealed by Metro, a distressed and scared Cleo arrives fresh from captivity, seemingly determined to finally expose Abe as the monster that he is.

Peri currently has no idea what he is capable and, having discovered that he was lying both about finishing with Peri and Marie (Rita Simons) being dead, Cleo starts plotting a plan to escape his clutches.

Playing the abuser at his own game, Cleo indicates that she is still very much in love with him, and wants to get married as soon as possible.

During this, she is faking an illness, making Abe believe that her eating disorder has returned.

Indicating that she could be on her last legs, Cleo exchanges vows with Abe, having been snuck out by him to the folly.

When she then collapses, vile Abe dumps her body into the river, only for to crawl out, her getaway plan a success.

A desperate Cleo is picked up by a passing Pearl and is now on a mission to save Peri from Abe.

As the wedding dawns, Cleo arrives on the scene – will she reveal the truth about Abe to the packed congregation and will Peri get away from him before they marry?

It remains to be seen what transpires but as the dust settles, the police arrive on the scene and are seen questioning Abe’s mum Marie.

Will justice finally be done?

Viewers also recently saw that Abe had targeted Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) in a sex attack during the year-long time jump executed by the soap.

Discussing the storyline, the actress told us: ‘I think it’s extremely important and vital of Hollyoaks to tell this story.

‘With Leela’s rape story, I found it difficult for Leela’s character to experience what she did and how vulnerable she was/is, but many woman unfortunately feel vulnerable at some point in their lives, and that shows that this can happen to anyone. I hope everyone who has been through this gets the help and support they need.’
