Hollyoaks’ Cleo makes tense escape from Abe in early streaming release
She puts her plan into action.
Hollyoaks has aired a dramatic escape for Cleo McQueen as she deceives Abe Fielding, in the show’s latest episode.
Last week, Cleo discovered that Abe has been lying to her, finding out that his mum Marie is still alive and he still intends to marry Peri.
She decided to take action against her abusive partner and secretly plotted her escape. Cleo explained that her eating disorder had returned and she didn’t have long left to live, so wanted to marry Abe before she dies.
In last night’s episode, Leela confronted Abe about his recent violence against Peri, wanting him to admit that he caused her head injury. He denied everything and threatened to expose Leela’s own secret.
When Abe returned to the basement, Cleo asked Abe to let them say their wedding vows outside at the folly that evening.
Meanwhile, Peri was furious with Abe, making it clear that any violence against her wasn’t acceptable. Abe used this as an opportunity to suggest that they call the wedding off.
Peri was upset that Abe was so willing to give up on their relationship, but Abe managed to convince her that he will never hurt her again, and she agreed to move on.
As Peri’s hen night got underway, Cleo got ready for her own vows and put on her makeshift wedding dress made from sheets, while pretending to get weaker.
Cleo and Abe arrived at the folly and Cleo read her vows and put a ring on his finger – before collapsing to the floor.
She appeared unresponsive, so Abe wrapped her in a blanket and put her body in his car. However, he was spotted by Martha, who was wandering outside in her dressing gown.
Peri wanted to head home from The Loft and see Abe, but Zoe convinced her to get a good night of sleep before her wedding.
Meanwhile, Abe took Cleo to the river and dropped her body in the water. “I can’t believe this is goodbye,” he said, before running away. “I’m sorry it had to end like this.”
But once Abe was out of sight, Cleo came up for breath and got herself out of the water, before collapsing on the riverbank.
Will she be able to take revenge on Abe?
