Hollyoaks star hints at Lucas and Dillon’s New Year plot outcome
"I would've liked a bit more vengeance."
Lucas Hay’s heart was broken earlier this year when he discovered that his boyfriend Dillon Ray had fathered a baby with his sister Leah during the soap’s one year time jump, whilst he was incarcerated in a Young Offenders Institution for attacking JJ Osborne.
Whilst Lucas has been adamant that he wouldn’t forgive Dillon for his betrayal, his ex is keen to make amends. Calling Lucas to Casa McQueen for a make-or-break meeting around New Year, the youngsters are set to try to move forward together as a couple as they realise they both still care deeply for each other.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Lucas actor Oscar Curtis has suggested that his character tries to be mature about the situation and decides to forgive Dillon so that they can have a fresh start.
“I think Lucas has forgiven Dillon and wants him back,” Curtis reveals. “I would’ve liked a bit more vengeance, but he’s done the mature thing and put water under the bridge, even though that might cause a flood!”
Lucas’ dad Ste is also there to support them through the situation and is their biggest cheerleader for getting back together.
“Ste doesn’t want Lucas to make the same mistakes he did, so encourages him not to throw the relationship away,” actor Kieron Richardson explains. “Even though Dillon did wrong, it’s given Ste a grandchild in baby James.
“Leah only got close to Dillon because her dad was in a coma and her brother was in Young Offenders – she was in turmoil. We’ll see Ste fight for Lucas and Dillon’s relationship in the new year.”
However, whilst the future looks hopeful for the couple, Curtis’ comments on a possible emotional “flood” after forgiving Dillon so quickly could mean that it may not be plain sailing for them in 2025.
