Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) fate is confirmed in Hollyoaks next month and all eyes turn to her for help after Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) lashes out and attacks Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).
Cleo, as viewers know, was held captive by Abe for over a year, with her loved ones believing her to have been in Bali.
Having to wind of the fact that Abe was set to wed Peri, Cleo staged an escape plan earlier this month before storming over to the folly to stop the ceremony.
Cleo, however, was knocked down by Marie (Rita Simons) before she could break the news of what Abe put her through over the past year.
After being rushed to hospital, Cleo was put into a coma but her comeback has sparked questions aplenty, with Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) knowing full well that Abe has something to do with why Cleo turned up at the wedding in such a state.
And Mercedes isn’t the only one concerned, as Peri is sure that something isn’t right – and her suspicions escalate come the New Year after she finds material in Abe’s flat that matches the handmade dress Cleo wore to the wedding.
Abe, meanwhile, sees the cupboard open with the material in question missing and works out that Peri is on to him. Determined to get answers, Peri confronts Abe, who avoids the topic of conversation.
Frustrated, Peri turns to drink and Abe proceeds to manipulate her. Things take a turn when Peri demands answers once more as Abe lashes out, hitting her in upsetting scenes.
Devastated by what has happened, Peri subsequently makes her way to the Lomaxes but, with the place full of life, she decides to leave – that is, until a message from Abe stops her in her tracks.
Feeling safe in her family home, Peri decides to stay and it doesn’t take long for Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) to work out that something isn’t right.
Will Peri confide in her mum?
That remains to be seen but Abe isn’t happy when he wakes up to discover that Peri hasn’t returned home.
And over at the hospital, Cleo’s eyes open. Cleo is relieved to see Mercedes waiting on her and, having heard the news, Leela and Joel (Rory Douglas-Speed) head to the hospital too to get an update.
Cleo is happy to see them both and soon all eyes are on her as Leela and Joel beg her to tell them the truth about Abe so that they can help Peri.
