Hollyoaks’ Peri Lomax is set to face huge danger next month, as the abuse plot involving Abe Fielding continues.
In recent weeks, Cleo McQueen managed to escape Abe’s clutches after over a year held captive in his flat. She managed to crash Abe and Peri’s wedding, but before she could do anything, Marie accidentally hit her with her car.
Cleo remains in a coma, but the McQueens are determined to bring Abe down – plus Peri is beginning to have doubts about what her fiancé is really like. Elsewhere, Leela is unaware that it was Abe who raped her at Theresa’s party and that he could be the father of baby Clara.
In scenes that will air early next month, Peri finds a pillowcase matching the material of Cleo’s homemade dress in Abe’s cupboard, and she starts to wonder whether Cleo was ever in Bali.
She gets a frosty reception from Prince at the hospital when he tells her to stay away from Cleo and the family, but Peri admits that she doesn’t believe things add up.
Abe has realised that Peri is onto him, after seeing the cupboard open with the pillowcase missing. When Peri comes home and wants to talk to Abe, he avoids the topic.
Peri turns to drink and later confronts Abe, who continues to manipulate her. She demands answers, but as things get heated, Abe lashes out and hits Peri.
Afterwards, Peri turns up at the Lomaxes in a daze. With a house full of people, she decides to leave, but a message from Abe makes her change her mind. With Leela concerned, will Peri be able to tell her that Abe is a danger to women?
As Abe wakes up the next day and discovers that Peri hasn’t returned home, Cleo finally wakes up from her coma at the hospital.
She is relieved to see Mercedes by her side and is happy when Leela and Joel arrive at the hospital, but they are adamant that she needs to tell them the truth about Abe so they can help Peri.
Mercedes comforts Leela, thinking she must be struggling to see Joel speaking to his ex, Cleo – but it might not be this that is upsetting her.
Joel does his own search of Abe’s flat to find evidence against his brother, but he later reports back to Leela in the pub and says he didn’t find anything.
Will Peri be okay, and will Abe’s string of crimes be discovered?
These scenes will air on the week beginning Monday, January 6, on E4 and streaming service Channel 4.
